Craig and Ramona Ray have created a charming restaurant serving coastal cuisine with a backdrop of eclectic art. There's a room available every day except Saturday for private parties, and the other dining spaces are divided into smaller areas, for an intimate feel. In addition to a great selection of seafood dishes, there are a variety of other entrees, including chicken and steak dishes. For something lighter, stop in for a drink and some appetizers at the oyster bar.
Tucked away in the charming little coastal town of Rockport, a town known for it's eclectic citizens and art galleries, you will find Hemingway's Bar and Grill. With a dark and luxurious decor and an attentive and friendly staff, this place is perfect for a quiet business lunch or a romantic dinner for two. Chef James Granger's menu consists of classic American dishes and a few Italian favorites. Especially recommended is the fried avocado stuffed with crab and coated with breadcrumbs. Don't forget to grab a drink at the adjoining Blue Marlin Bar.
Along with excellent fresh seafood, this combination bar and grill has an impressive wine list, interesting cocktails and a decadent dessert menu. Pastas, seafood, salads and sandwiches are just a few of the choices here. Be sure to try a Flirtini cocktail--the bar's version of a cosmo with a twist and a slice of banana pie. This is a great place for a casual date, a family dinner or lunch with some co-workers. The bar is open late on weekends.
Fins is the place to go on Port Aransas for fresh seafood and fun. Choose from the wide variety of daily catch dishes, chicken and steak, burgers and sandwiches. Or, bring in your own catch, cleaned and ready to cook, and the chefs at Fins will cook it for you, the way you like it. Catering and to-go services are also available. Ask about the "dine and ride" package, which includes a meal at Fins and a boat ride in the bay. If you'd rather look at the water than be in it, choose to dine outdoors, or just have a margarita on the deck. A children's menu and game room are available, so bring the whole family!
Founded by an Italian immigrant family, this is the most authentic Italian restaurant in South Texas. The restaurant is still family-owned and operated, service is warm and friendly. The menu features salads, pastas, and of course fresh seafood dishes. This place is especially popular during the summer months, so reservations are recommended.
Enclosed by water, yachts and palm trees, La Barataria is a kind of a hidden gem, an upscale yet casual restaurant and bar located in the beautiful Port Aransas. Offering magnificent vistas of the marina and Corpus Christi Channel, this balmy restaurant will enchant you with its tranquility. Unwind at the upper deck or relax by the pool side with a cocktail or a boutique wine. The menu is a mix of Cajun and French fare that will tease your palates for a lovely culinary journey. Soak in the music from various local artists and enjoy the island paradise.
