    »Ying Yang Twins

    September 23, 2014 8:00 PM

Atlanta rap duo Ying Yang Twins is considered one of the area's earliest and most commercially successful crunk groups of all time. Scoring hits with production from crunk music maestro Lil' Jon, the Ying Yang Twins almost single-handedly made crunk music a phenomenon in the early 2000s. The duo has gone on to score hits throughout the first decade and tour sporadically around the world, reminding people of the movement it helped start.

»Miniature Tigers, Skizzy Mars, Machineheart, Matty Rico

    September 28, 2014 8:00 PM

Brooklyn-based four-piece Miniature Tigers plays an infectious brand of psychedelia-infused indie pop that has garnered it well-received marks from fans and critics alike over recent years. Inspired by the latter era, more experimental side of the Beatles, as well as modern indie rock trends, Miniature Tigers' music is overtly poppy, but skewered and twisted in ways that make it unique and rewarding of repeat listens. Lead singer Charlie Brand possesses a slow, casual voice that he uses to deliver his sometimes creepy, abstract lyrics, which contrast well with the pleasant pop being put out by his bandmates. The band's popular 2010 single "Gold Skull" was produced by notable chillwave artist, Neon Indian.

    »WWE Live

    September 28, 2014 5:00 PM

During the early 20th century wresting was looked at as a serious sport with classical connections to Olympic competitions. This all changed, though, with the rise of World Wrestling Entertainment during the 80s. Rising to prominence under the guidance of CEO Vince McMahon, WWE presented wrestling as less of a sport and more of a staged entertainment event with colorful characters and elaborately planned title matches. Battles between WWE wrestlers are typically held in stadiums, packed with fervent fans, and are televised to audiences around the country. Theatrics and even pyrotechnics are employed to an ostentatious degree but all the lively visuals combine to make for some extremely engaging, exaggerated wrestling performances that fans continue to thrive on.

    »Insane Clown Posse

    September 29, 2014 7:00 PM

Though derided by critics as being an irreverent group that prides itself on songs about violence, hatred and demonic imagery, the Detroit-based duo Insane Clown Posse is highly regarded by its die-hard fans, who consider what the group does to be apex of musical purity. The outfit's origins were planted in the late-1980s, when the group's two members organized a quasi gang and felt a sense of familiarity comfort they'd never experienced before. As the two began listening to more and more hip-hop, they decided to pursue a career as rappers. In a ploy to attract fans, the duo packed its songs with twisted themes and stories of maniacal escapades. The two crowned their style of music horrorcore and started painting their faces, when performing. After releasing a few albums and playing a prolific amount of shows in its native Detroit, Insane Clown Posse's notoriety began to grown by leaps and bounds. Though the group might be better known for its sadistic image, than music--over the years, ICP has amassed throngs of fans (who call themselves juggalos and juggalette) that turn out in droves for the theatrical concert spectacle that Insane Clown Posse prides itself on.

    »Cloud Nothings

    October 02, 2014

Considered the king of the geeks on the music scene, Dylan Baldi is an anemic-looking young singer/songwriter with a penchant for oversized Hawaiian shirts and notorious for giving fast-talking, awkward interviews. However, when Baldi steps behind the mic for his band Cloud Nothings (which he writes/records all the music for and just recruits friends to help him out at live performances), he impresses audiences with his quirky speed garage-pop that's clearly influenced by 90s punk rock. After signing to the Animal Collective-run label Carpark Records, Baldi began receiving tremendous buzz on the indie scene and has since built a solid fan base.
