Later in the day, consider a Patty Melt or Tuna Melt, both served with fries, soup or salad. Looking for a home-cooked dinner? Nothing beats pork chops, complete with potatoes and the vegetable of the day. In accordance with the restaurant's name, coyotes are displayed throughout the establishment. The entrance hosts a glass case with southwestern keepsakes, including miniature coyotes.
Located among long-standing Vista shops, Paisano's Ristorante & Pizzeria offers homemade Italian specialties. The restaurant consists of several booths, with green and white checked tablecloths, as well as an order counter near the front entrance. Choose from a long list of pizzas. Try Paisano's Special, with fresh onion, homemade Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives and pepperoni. Meanwhile, Paisano's Olive Oil Deluxe offers an olive oil base with sliced tomatoes, garlic, onions, jalapenos, pepperoni and sausage. Pasta fanatics may select a half-order or full order of spaghetti, ravioli or tortellini.
With fast service and a casual atmosphere, Two Brothers From Italy is an ideal spot for family dining. The restaurant is clearly casual, yet the decor is still notable. One wall is covered in a long mural, featuring famous spots in Rome. A large canopy, highlighting the colors of the Italian flag, covers the outdoor dining area. Pizza is the most popular choice of entree. Consider the Pesto Pizza (pesto sauce, fresh tomatoes, eggplant and mozzarella) or the Four Seasons (mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, ham, mushrooms, artichokes and shrimp). Calzones are also sold here.
Thai Garden restaurant does not appear extravagant from the outside. Yet, once inside, the ornate decorations and incredible entrees pleasantly surprise guests. Just inside the front door, a full-size gold sculpture greets visitors and traditional tunes of the Orient fill the air. Lunch specials include an entree, soup and salad. For dinner, one top entree is Masaman (Masaman curry with coconut milk, potatoes, onion and peanuts). Red Curry (consisting of red curry paste with coconut milk, eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell pepper and basil) is also popular. Thai Garden is well-known for it's seafood preparations as well.
Mi Asador features a low-key atmosphere with plentiful servings. Simple black and white tables seat guests, who listen to Spanish selections from the jukebox or watch the local Spanish television station on one of two screens. For breakfast, try Huevos Rancheros or the Ham and Cheese Omelet, served with Rice, Beans and a Tortilla. Later in the day, take advantage of the combination plates, with portions large enough for two. The Chorizo Plate and Carne Asada Plate are particularly popular, both served with rice and beans.
This North County restaurant specializes in Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine, combined with a comfortable atmosphere. Both tables and booths are available for seating. Oriental pictures cover the walls and classical music plays overhead. A special lunch menu is offered, including Beef Broccoli, Garlic Chicken and Walnut Shrimp. All lunches are served with an appetizer, soup, salad, fruit and steamed or fried rice. At dinnertime, try Yu-Hsiang Beef (shredded beef, served in sweet and sour brown sauce). Another popular entree is Pork Chung King, which includes pork, cabbage and bell pepper.
The Gambling Cowboy Chophouse and Saloon in Old Town Temecula is perched on the third floor at 5th and Front streets offers a nice view and good food and drinks. This rustic yet modern steakhouse has an inviting atmosphere with its Victorian styled saloon, high ceilings and cozy high back booths.
