During 1929, when the entire city of Manchester was reeling under the effects of the Great Depression, Dora Mae realized the need for a pub. Everyone around needed a drink to relax and wane away all the worries. Soon word passed and locals started heading here for a pint or two. During the Prohibition era, she operated the pub from the basement of a building. In 1974, the Auntie Mae's Parlor was reopened as a tribute to the lady who provided the much needed respite during Prohibition era. Today, it continues this lineage and serves excellent drinks to one and all. Apart from that, it also hosts fun events like live music concerts and trivia quizzes.
