Matuto is the musical project of Clay Ross, a South Carolina native and New York resident who blends his jazz and Brazilian folk studies with his Southern roots. The Binghamton Senators is a professional ice hockey team based out of Binghamton, New York that competes in the American Hockey League. Assembled for a Nick Jr. television show of the same name, The Fresh Beat Band creates children's music that promotes musical education and the strength of singnig and dancing. The band is made up of four fictional characters, Twist, Marina, Shout and Kiki, who are respectively played by John Beavers, Tara Perry, Thomas Hobson and Yvette Conzalez-Nacer. The Fresh Beat Band television series premiered in 2004, and the band has since played several sold-out tours across the US.
Peelander-Z is a New York-based punk band that originally formed in Japan in 1998. Billing themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic band hailing from the Z area of Planet Peelander," the band's four members (known as Peelander Yellow, Peelander Green, Peelander Red and Peelander Pink) don oddball, psychedelic outfits that include headdresses, plastic wigs and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers-style jumpsuits. Musically, Peelander-Z plays a quick, brash style that pulls equally from 1980s hardcore and 1990s skate punk. The band's outrageous stage show has won it appearances on several television shows, and slots at notable festivals such as Warped Tour and Bonnaroo.
