The South Alabama Jaguars and Lady Jaguars represent the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. An NCAA Division I school, USA competes in the Sun Belt Conference. Popular programs at the school include its men's and women's tennis teams, which are consistently near the top of national rankings, and the men's basketball team, which has won a couple bids into the NCAA Tournament. Entering the NCAA's Division I-A in 2001, the Trojans have established rivalries with other teams in its division, including the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks and the University of North Alabama Lions. Though Troy University hosts popular sports such as baseball and basketball, it also boasts one of the top collegiate rodeo programs East of the Mississippi River.

Joseph Edgar Foreman is an American rapper who produces music under the pseudonym Afroman. After adopting his chosen moniker in the early 1990s and honing his distinctive style, he dropped his first albumMy Fro-losophy, in 1999. With the help of producer Tim Ramenofsky, he followed the album up with the LP, Because I Got High, which spawned the critically and commercially acclaimed title track. After a year of circulated around the internet, "Because I Got High" became an international hit and earned Afroman a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance in 2002. He has since continued to perform and release new material, including 2012's Marijuana Music.
