    September 16, 2014 7:00 PM

Chicago natives OK Go were formed in 1998 by childhood friends Damian Kulash and Tim Nordwind who met at art camp when they were 11. Building up a reputation for catchy alternative-pop while playing as the house band for the television series This American Life, the band found fame with the release of its 2007 music video for "Here It Goes Again," which consisted entirely of a choreographed treadmill routine and received tremendous attention via YouTube. After garnering a Grammy for this video, the band had the world's attention and continues to create similarly catchy songs with creative videos today.

    »Molly

    September 16, 2014 8:00 PM

"Molly" explores secret revelations of the young mistress of J.M. Synge, one of Ireland's greatest playwrights. Synge's brief yet passionate affair with Mary "Molly" Allgood, considered a "shockingly unsuitable" mistress due to her working-class upbringing as well as her religious and political affiliations, was tragically cut short due to his rapidly deteriorating health. Synge died of complications related to Hodgkin's lymphoma at 37 (he and Molly were engaged to be married at the time), yet his work, some of which was inspired by their relationship, still greatly impacts audiences and writers to this day. This original Scena Theatre production, written by award-winning Irish author and Georgetown Professor Emeritus George O'Brien, is presented at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.

    »Dub Fx

    September 16, 2014 9:00 PM

Dub FX is a street performer and recording artist from Melbourne, Australia whose signature performance style relies on the bare essentials: live looping, effect pedals and his own unique voice. Relying primarily on rhythm and beat to push his renowned live show forward, Dub FX is considered by many of his contemporaries and critics as a master of creating complex drum & bass, reggae and hip hop rhythms with very limited resources. The performer/musician is an independent artist in the truest sense of the word--relying only on his impromptu live performances, word of mouth and internet social networking to get the word out about his talents. Given the huge amount of positive response from fans throughout the world, the overwhelming success of Dub FX's independent approach has proven that the young performer is truly a force to be reckoned with. Dub FX often performs with his fiancée Shoshana Sadia who assumes the stage name "Flower Fairy."

Considered a true American classic, Sam Shepard's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Fool for Love" finds a woman named Mae hiding out at an old motel in the Southwest. Their battle plays out as they trade barbs, heartbreak and painful revelations, taking themselves and audiences on an unforgettable journey from love and attraction to obsession. At once funny and horrific, "Fool for Love" is widely regarded as Shepard's finest work.

    »Yentl

    September 16, 2014 7:30 PM

Barbra Streisand stars in and makes her directorial debut (for which she won a Golden Globe) in "Yentl", the musical film about a young Jewish woman in early 20th-century Poland who disguises herself as a man so she can defy tradition and continue her study of the Talmud. While at a Jewish religious school, she winds up in a romantic triangle with a fellow student (Mandy Patinkin) and his fiancée (Amy Irving). This groundbreaking exploration of religious and gender identity was adapted from Isaac Bashevis Singer's classic Yiddish short story, "Yentl the Yeshiva Boy", and features an Oscar-winning score, including the memorable songs "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" and "The Way He Makes Me Feel."
