The Chesapeake Arboretum was founded in 1996 and consists of 47 acres. In addition to the mature forest the arboretum comprises, there are also ample trails and demonstration gardens. The arboretum contains about three and a half total miles of trails that pass through all the different parts of the park.

The American Rover Tall Ship Cruises offer visitors a unique way to tour the Hampton Roads harbor. Easily visible with its distinctive red sails, tours leave daily, rain or shine, from their dock by Town Point Park. Each tour is narrated and passengers can participate in the ship's operation. Located in Downtown Norfolk, on the waterfront, Town Point Park host scores of events throughout the year. Events include the Friday-after-work concert series, Harborfest, Town Point Jazz and Blues Festival, and the ever popular Bayou Boogaloo & Cajun Food Festival. The park is situated adjacent to the Waterside Festival Marketplace.
Part of the Nauticus Maritime Center, the USS Wisconsin came to Norfolk in 2000. The ship is over 60 years old, first launched in 1943, and is one of the largest battleships ever built by the US Navy. Children and history buffs especially love it, and docents are placed in various spots on board to answer any questions about the ship's colorful history.
This extremely popular tourist walk takes visitors through some of Norfolk's most significant heritage sites. Visitors can experience over 400 years worth of history. This fascinating trail is built on an old railroad right-of-way and it passes through an interesting part of modern Norfolk and some of its heritage sites. Walkers can visit the Norfolk Fort, where several early 19th-century buildings still survive, including a dungeon. The trail winds by the waters of Hampton Roads, giving walkers a chance to see ships and tankers, not to mention various birds and other indigenous wildlife. It's a great walk to do at any time of year and is completely free.
A public, Robert Trent Jones, par 72 golf course which was carved out of woodland and incorporates plenty of natural water hazards and well placed bunkers across its 6,846 yards. The fairways on this course are tree lined and the greens are large. A driving range with both grass and mats is on site, as well as a practice bunker, a chipping area, and a putting green.
Rowena's produces more than just jam! For January to October, visitors can tour the factory to see how Rowena's jams and jellies are produced; just be sure to book your tour in advance for just $2. It is also a popular tea room that has full English tea Thursday-Saturday. Choose from a selection of finger sandwiches, treats like pound cake, scones with their special jams or curd, and, of course, a pot of tea of your choice. The on-site gift shop (open Monday-Saturday) sells a variety of Rowena's sweet treats, or if you can't make it into the store, you can always order online and get your baked goods and jams delivered directly to your door.
