It is easy to forget you are in the middle of Calgary's bustling Chinatown while dining in this Vietnamese eatery. The subdued colors and lighting make for a quiet and enjoyable meal. Saigon Y2K offers traditional Vietnamese dishes such as deep fried quails and spring rolls, egg noodle soups, rice bowls, stir fried noodles and vermicelli selections. The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Chef School (SAIT) operates the Highwood Restaurant, using it to train its students. A five-course meal complete with appetizer, entree, dessert and drinks is immaculately presented in a luxurious banquet hall. The gourmet cuisine served here is some of the finest in town, and is set at a price no other restaurant of its caliber can touch. Loco Lous Bar & Grill has one of the largest outdoor decks in Northwest Calgary. They offer a large menu filled with North American favorites; pizza, hamburgers and nachos, as well as a myriad of finger foods like wedges and fries. Lou's spacious interiors offer a host of seating options from from table seating and booths to bar top stools. Muku’s Japanese Noodle House, which opened in the northwest Kensington area in October 2008, raised the bar and boasted the only ramen house in Calgary. Muku’s specialty ramen and wonton wraps come all the way from Japan.
