Starting a Family takes visitors into daily life of King's Wards, the women who immigrated to New-France as part of a program set up by Louis XIV in order to boost the nation's population by promoting family formation, marriage, and birth. The exhibit focuses on the meaning of starting a family in daily life. During summer season, from June 22 to September 7, the museum is open from 11a to 6p, Tuesday through Sunday. All visits are guided.

Twentieth-century painter and poet Arthur Guindon is famed for depicting North American traditions and Canadian folklore and history. He placed special emphasis on New-France's heroes and episodes. Visitors of Shadow and Light will enjoy an audio guide to learn about Guidon's fascinating work and legends. During April 2014 and March 2015 the exhibition will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11a to 4p.
