Lake Newell is a man-made reservoir located 14 kilometres (8.7 miles) south of Brooks. Covering a surface of 66.4 square kilometres (25.6 square miles), this lake is only 4.8 metres (16 feet) deep. Connecting the two wetlands Kinbrook Marsh South and North, it flows through Rolling Hills Lake and finally ends in the Bow River. This lake also has agricultural and irrigation purposes.
