Located in Riverchase Galleria (next to Sears), Koko Bubble is a unique tea shop serving bubble tea. What is bubble tea? It’s a concoction of tea, flavors of tropical fruits and tapioca that originated in Taiwan. The bubble refers to the foam at the brim of the cup. Suck up the chewy tapioca balls (through large accommodating straws) made with rice from the bottom of the cup. Its different, unique, and delicious. Try a frozen treat such as a Tea Frappe made with green tea and flavors such as Papaya, Strawberry, Mango, Almond, and Watermelon. A true one-of-a-kind experience and worth waiting in line for.
If you're visiting this small Italian restaurant, make sure you make a reservation. Fresh bread with olive oil is provided as an appetizer. The dinner entrees range from classic Italian dishes like spaghetti with marinara sauce and fettuccine alfredo to a variety of seafood and meat dishes. Few vegetarian options appear on the menu, but the salads are crisp and tasty. A wine list is available.
Located on Oxmoor Road in Homewood, Nabeel's offers a full range of Greek repasts along with an adjoining store stocked with Mediterranean groceries. The décor is very cozy and very Greek, furnished with antique-looking Mediterranean furniture and decorative ceramics. The tables are candlelit, and the lighting is soft. The interesting menu tapers upward from a massive array of salads, soups, and Greek appetizers, to a much smaller selection of main-course meat dishes including John's Steak, Shrimp Aegean and Chicken Skewers.
Village Tavern is a diner's paradise with excellent meals ranging from steaks, salads, pastas and seafood. The wine list is also commendable. Best known for its excellent service, the restaurant is casual and simple with an easygoing charm that is infectious. Tuck into succulent pieces of Grilled Tilapia, Steak Au Poivre and Maryland-Style Crab Cake that transport the diner to gustatory paradise. A children's menu is also provided, selected while keeping in mind their likes and dislikes. The bar is a good place to sip some cool wine and delight in the comfort of the place.

The décor is that of a typical pub with a large bar and tables arranged around it. There are also several televisions tuned to sports events. Located in Homewood's Little Professor Bookstore, this casual cafe serves fresh sandwiches, soups, salads, Southern-style vegetables, fish and homestyle favorites such as meatloaf sandwiches. Place your order at the counter, carry your tray to a comfortable table on the main floor or upper balcony, then enjoy your meal as you page through magazines and books that are for sale here. There are always several flavored iced teas as well as other beverages, but no alcohol. Choose from desserts such as chocolate cake or buttermilk custard pie.
Located on 18th Street in Downtown Homewood, De Vinci's offers an array of pizza and pasta dishes. The décor is a step up from the typical pizzeria, featuring Italian art and photographs on the walls, and looks more like a formal Italian restaurant, with tables and booths in two dining rooms. The menu lists calzones, sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and 27 different pasta dishes, but pizza is the specialty. Many believe that De Vinci's serves the best pizza in town--the crowds seem to support this contention.

An open kitchen is further intriguing as one can see the dishes being meticulously prepared by the chef. The most loved dishes on the menu are the grilled items, especially the Mixed Grill, for which the patrons continue to return. The charm lies in the hands of the grill-master who succeeds in preparing each dish to perfection. The wine list also woos for attention with quite a few good labels. The prices are reasonable, adding to the pleasant experience here.
