    The Psychedelic Furs

    Coquitlam, BC V3K 6W3
One of the most influential bands in the new wave era of music, The Psychedelic Furs formed in 1977 out of the British post-punk scene. Developing along side punk rock in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the band blended its art rock sound with punk to created a more produced sound that would go on to appeal to a wide audience. The Psychedelic Furs' eponymous debut album was well received by punk fans and a mainstream audience in the UK, while its 1981 follow up album Talk Talk Talk, served as its breakthrough to American audiences and a precursor to the massive commercial success the band would achieve in the west. The band's edgy sound became one of the trademark sounds of the eighties, particularly its track "Pretty and Pink," which is immortalized in John Hughes' iconic 1986 film of the same name. The band broke up in the early 1990s but reformed in the 2000s after almost a decade in remission. The Psychedelic Furs continues to bring its landmark new wave music to fans all over the world.
