It's the hottest summer in human history and, in just a few short months, all water on earth will evaporate -- and humankind with it. In response, twenty-something Charlie has taken to her couch with her beloved possessions: peanut butter, Wolf Blitzer and Herschel, her pet fish. Her mother, roommate and sometimes-boyfriend all attempt to persuade her to leave the apartment and enjoy life. But as Charlie's memories take over, more complicated reasons for her self-inflicted hibernation emerge, as she confronts her deferred dreams and considers the possibility of life and love just outside her door. Filled with playwright Nick Blaemire's ("Glory Days") trademark quirky, witty style, "Soon"'s youthful humor delivers a searing and sardonic commentary on what to do with the time you have left.

»Jim White vs The Packway Handle Band

March 31, 2015 7:30 PM

Jim White is an American alt country, Southern Gothic singer/songwriter who has released four albums as a solo artist. While his music is based in Americana, he borrows elements from rock, R&B and even electronica, often piecing sounds together in the lo-fi cut-and-paste fashion of artists like Tom Waits. His albums have featured a wide variety of collaborators, such as Victoria Williams, Morcheeba and Aimee Mann. He is signed to David Byrne's Luaka Bop label and appeared in the BBC documentary, Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus, which looks at musicians inspired by the culture of the American South. »Joshua Bell

March 31, 2015 8:00 PM

Taking to music at a young age, Bloomington, Indian-born artist Joshua Bell began his musical journey at age 4, when he acquired his first violin. After years of formal training and playing under renowned conductors such as Charles Dutoit, he began writing his own original compositions and eventually branched out into folk and jazz. Through his impressive catalog of work, which includes notable cadenzas for the violin concertos of classical legends like Beethoven, Mozart and Mendelssohn, Bell has earned a reputation for not only his technical skill, but also his emotional presence on stage.
