Located in the Merriman Valley, this community playhouse features ten productions, including seven main stage productions and three Youth Theatre events, from September through July each year; a big favourite is the Spring Puppet Show.
The historic parcel of land that Hale Farm & Village is built on was donated to The Western Reserve Historical Society by Clara Belle Ritchie. Historic buildings from around the country were relocated to the land to create a living history museum and village called Wheatfield. Visitors will learn about life during the Civil War and the history of the region. Exhibits relating to fashion, technology, and other subjects can be seen here as well.
This theatre was created in 1956 by a small, dedicated troupe of players, and has since evolved into a widespread enterprise that encompasses three counties; the season runs form May through September, and dramas, comedies and musicals are presented.

The Oriental/Islamic architecture of the Tangier events center stands out amid the more conventional architecture along West Market Street in Akron. Open since 1948, this multi-purpose center has been providing an excellent facility for private events, corporate events, and entertainment in the city. Spread over an impressive area of 60,000 square feet (5574.1 square meters), and comprising 11 rooms, this facility hosts numerous events throughout the year. For over twenty-five years, talented dancers ages eight through eighteen have been performing for audiences in northeast Ohio. With 32 original ballets, three modern dance works, and five commissioned scores, the company astounds all who see them with their professional level productions. Since 1998, it has also offered Reach Out and Dance (ROAD), an artist-in-residence program of dance for Akron Public School Children in the belief that the art of dance has a unique power to engage and motivate children.
This entertainment home that is spread over less than one acre of land, is the Loew's Theater. With it's great architectural design of Italian Renaissance, the theater is said to be an excellent example of the great movie palaces of the early days i.e. the 1920's. Serving the visitors as the first theater of the County, the theater is visible to the public for Broadway shows, dance performances, etc.
Lock 3 is an outdoor amphitheater that plays host to a variety of events in the summer months. Friday nights feature WONE's Free Admission Rock the Lock Concerts with the country's best tribute artists and Saturdays are Lock 3 Live! Concerts with touring artists. The Annual Rib, White and Blue Festival is held at Lock 3 in July, as well as Akron's Italian Festival and The National Hamburger Festival. In the fall and winter, Lock 3 hosts Ohio's largest ice-skating rink as well as the Akron Chriskindl Market.
The Canal Park Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in Akron and can comfortably accommodate approximately 9000 people at a time. Opened in 1997, it has since then hosted innumerable important local and national matches. Well-equipped with amenities, it is also used to host concerts and community events on non-match days.
