    »Street Eaters

    July 29, 2014

Street Eaters is a punk duo that's based in Berkeley, CA. Formed in 2008, when drummer Megan March and bassist Johnny Geek officially teamed up, the group released a steady stream of singles and EPs before dropping its debut full-length effort Rusty Eyes and Hydrocarbons in 2011. With a sludgy, stripped-back style, the group cultivated a niche following of anarcho-punks around the San Francisco Bay Area that spread into other regions after the 2014 release of the LP BLOOD::MUSCLES::BONES, and the band's subsequent North American tour.

    »Counting Crows

    July 29, 2014 7:00 PM

Counting Crows is an alternative rock band from Berkeley, California that achieved a rare case of international stardom as a result of its debut record August and Everything After in 1991. The album spawned several hit singles such as "Mr. Jones" and "Round Here," which were showcased by Top 10 radio stations throughout the country. These days, Counting Crows has managed to set into a fairly comfortable groove where recording and performing is concerned, and remains one of the few massively popular alt-rock acts of the 1990s to remain relevant in the 2010s.

    »Better Than Ezra

    July 29, 2014

Louisiana rockers Better Than Ezra have had a tumultuous career, but certainly don't seem to want to quit. Formed in 1988, the four-piece started gaining underground fame for its circulating demo tape, but was met with a sudden halt when the band's lead singer committed suicide. Though the band contemplated whether or not to continue for a couple years, the group finally decided to go on as a trio and was almost immediately signed to Elektra Records all in 1993. After releasing its multi-platinum debut album, the group was considered an overnight phenomenon and signed on for two more albums. Because neither of these subsequent albums did as well as expected, Elektra dropped the band in 1998. Instead of breaking up, however, the band decided to start its own label and continued to release post-grunge, alt-rock records through the 2000s, changing its lineup slightly and eventually being signed to Capitol Records in 2010.

    »Benise

    July 29, 2014 7:00 PM

Benise is the stage name for Roni Benise, a flamenco and rock guitarist who describes his unique sound as "nouveau Spanish flamenco." Celebrated for his ability to seamlessly and tastefully fuse what many feel to be disparate styles of music, such as various Spanish guitar styles, African tribal rhythms and rock, Benise has proven himself to be both a technically proficient instrumentalist as well as an ingenious musician. Having gained a substantial following of fans since his humble beginnings performing at flea markets and neighborhood theaters, Benise has recently caught the attention of the American public at-large since producing the popular PBS television music special Nights on Fire! in 2006.
